A yellow alert has been issued by the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) on Tuesday, April 8, for rough sea and fresh winds reaching up to 40kmph, blowing in a northwesterly direction.
The weather department noted that the sea will be rough with waves reaching 6ft offshore in the Arabian Gulf from 10.30am and will last till 12pm on Wednesday, April 9.
A yellow alert means one must be on the lookout if participating in outdoor activities.

Today, UAE residents can expect a fair day which could get partly cloudy at times.
The NCM’s weather bulletin has also predicted a gradual decrease in temperatures, especially over coastal areas.
Both Abu Dhabi and Dubai will experience a mostly sunny day, with the maximum temperature in the two cities touching 35°C and 33°C, respectively.
Temperatures in the internal areas can drop to as low as 17ºC.
The winds will be likely light to moderate, which could get freshening at times northward and eastward. These Northwesterly to Southwesterly winds will cause blowing of dust across the country during daytime.
While winds are expected to be gentle with speeds of 10-25kmph, it could pick up and reach up to 40kmph.
The sea will be moderate to rough in the Arabian Gulf and slight to moderate in Oman Sea.
